Nahm, The Metropolitan Bangkok-Authentic Thai Food by David Thompson

     Have you heard of David Thompson?  He is a famous Australian Chef for the Nahm, Thai restaurant in London.  He loves Thai food and studies all the ingredients of Thai food.  All his creations are quite  interesting.
  
     Nahm in London got a Michelin star and it was the first Thai food restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star.  As a Thai, I was very proud and impressed.
  
       Let's check out his menu:








Starting with Canapes อาหารว่าง

Ma hor (ม้าฮ่อ)
กอแระหอยแมลงภู่
southern grilled mussels
แคปหมูแหนมสด
spicy pork with mint, peanuts and crispy pork skin
on betel leaves
ปลาแห้งแตงโม
smoked ground fish with fresh and fried shallots,
betel leaves and watermelon




ยำ Salad
ยำหอยนางรมกับแหนม
salad of oysters with chiang mai cured pork


In Thailand, We shared our main courses, 
called "Sam rub" (สำรับ).  
At Nahm, they served in Thai style.  All main courses were served with Jasmine rice.




ซุป Soup


ต้มโคล้งปลากรอบใส่กุ้งย่าง
smoked fish and shredded prawn soup
with sour leaves




เครื่องจิ้ม Relish













กะปิคั่ว กุ้งทอด ผักสด
shrimp paste and grilled catfish simmered in coconut cream
with deep-fried soft shell crab and fresh vegetables



แกง Curry

แกงเขียวหวานเนื้อ  Beef green curry












                                                   แกงเหลืองปลากระพงแดง  spicy yellow curry of red snapper


ผัด นึ่ง ย่าง
stir-fried, steamed and grilled















ลูกชิ้นปลากรายผัดใบผักหวาน
stir-fried fish dumplings with pak warn




ขนมไทย Thai Dessert


 ข้าวเหนียวทุเรียนน้ำกะทิ
Durian and white sticky rice


 ข้าวเหนียวดำเปียกลำใยและมะพร้าวอ่อนกับเผือกรังนก
Black sticky rice with longans and young coconut
served with caramelised taro

  1. Btw, k.kook.. Did I tell you that I met David Thompson at Starchef conference last Oct. He was so lit up and talked to me in Thai while I initially responded in English.. well, he is farang, right. He speaks Thai so well.

    Then I got his book with his autograph (for free). I told him that you ate at his restaurant in BKK. He sincerely suggested Nahm in London is his real gem and much better than BKK branch.
